Freelance Editor (with experience/ interest in LGBT rights) Wanted for National Civil Rights Organization (NY)

National civil rights organization seeks a Spanish-language freelance editor to work on one-time, educational print publications (including brochures, fact sheets and magazine) originally published in English.
  • Consumer editorial experience, especially at a Spanish-language (or bilingual Spanish-English) magazine or website, is a must.
  • MUST be able to edit, write, rewrite; write headlines, decks and captions; pick pullquotes.
  • May be asked to help with photo research or assign photo shoots.
  • May be asked to manage or work with design/layout professionals.
  • Experience or interest in LGBT rights and HIV/AIDS helpful.

Much of the work can be done off site, but we'd prefer that freelancers close layouts/pages on site in our Financial District office.

In your response, please include 1) the print/web publications you have edited for AND 2) your hourly rate. Queries without hourly rates will be considered AFTER those citing hourly rates.

Compensation: Depending on experience

Telecommuting is ok.
