Grindr has a remarkable story and we are looking for a creative copywriter to help tell the Grindr story via our website, press releases, collateral, Facebook, Twitter and our blog. We are seeking a professional copywriter with a social network edge, who can successfully capture our voice and develop interesting content for our users, advertisers and potential investors.
Our story:
Grindr was launched on March 25, 2009, by Nearby Buddy Finder, LLC. Based in Los Angeles, California, Grindr had over 1.7 million users worldwide and continues to grow at 8,000 new users a day.
Currently, Grindr services the gay community but is expanding under a different brand into the general public user community.
Our expectations for the right candidate:
* Thorough knowledge of the Grindr application. Being a current Grindr user is a must.
* Professional copywriter with experience writing for blogs and websites
* Experience in the fields of advertising, public relations, marketing and/or journalism
* Social Networking Pro
* Proficient at producing and editing creative, engaging, compelling, informative copy
* Extensive knowledge of a wide range of topics within the internet, mobile applications and social media industry
* Proven ability to ensure that content copy is thoroughly edited, ready to publish and meets the highest standards
* Self motivating and self monitoring with the ability to gather appropriate information
* 2 to 4 years of professional copywriting experience
What the selected candidate will do:
* Capture the Grindr’s voice and tone to enhance and inform the appropriate audience.
* Develop and write compelling daily blog entries, matching appropriate links, related videos, customer stories and similar informational content that targets and extends the Grindr experience
* Proliferate through copy the Grindr brand message and brand positioning.
* Write sales collateral, email newsletters and in-app broadcast messages we send our users.
* Translate product features into outward-facing language that spurs action by prospects and customers.
* Support community outreach in blogs and on social media channels
* Work remotely and efficiently utilizing appropriate collaborative tools to get your work done with minor supervision.
* Work 20 - 30 hours a week
* Ability to work from Grindr head office located in Los Angeles, CA at least two days a week.
