LGBT Culture/ Entertainment Editorial Manager Wanted

We are looking for that creative individual who is incredible with developing concept, assigning and crafting copy, and has a sophisticated visual eye. It is imperative that the candidate be a self starter and have the ability to wear many hats in our startup culture. The candidate must be highly organized, creative and able to work with senior management to confidently take editorial ownership of a new brand.

We are looking for an editor and writer that has experience with online editorial publishing, familiarity with SEO, photo editing, and video editing. Should be proficient with dreamweaver and final cut pro. The Editor will oversee existing editorial content on our site (including daily Q+A columns, feature stories, a blog department written by industry experts and will help conceive future editorial strategy. The editor will also oversee, produce and a weekly email newsletter, collaborate with our social media team to create content and oversee editorial interns who will fact check and research. Additional responsibilities include working with the dot429 team to develop a mini travelling conference (think: microTED). A rolodex with talented writers is important.

Ideal candidate must be personable, upbeat, and collaborative, and have a positive solution-oriented attitude and superb client communication skills, as well as, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and harmoniously in a team environment. A true journalist with a degree is preferred. Interest in LGBT culture/entertainment is recommended.

Compensation: competitive - will consist of salary & stock options
