Vacancy: Editor for Entertainment Online Magazine (DC Metropolitan)

Entertainment blog and online magazine with a mission to bring to life the world of nightlife entertainment in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The online magazine will feature exclusive content and interviews along with a guide detailing nightlife events in the city to keep patrons and party-goers connected!

- As the principal editor, you must have good writing, editing, information design, and project management skills
- Manage and post content on a daily basis to facebook and twitter accounts
- Minimum 2-3 times per week, write and post articles to the online blog
- Work with director to develop and manage web editorial calendar
- On an as-needed basis attend events for the purpose of writing reviews and posting on the blog in a timely manner
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building partnerships, managing conflict and negotiating
- Possess a professional demeanor and be able to conduct interviews as needed
- Work with director to create email newsletter as needed

Minimum requirements and skills:

- Bachelor's degree required with a minimum 1 year of experience writing for a magazine or newspaper
- B.A. in journalism, public relations or related field a plus
- Experience using a content management system to manage web-based content
- Experience with basic HTML
- Corporate work experience and very professional
- Must be available (as needed) from 6pm-midnight to attend events and write reviews
- Must be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week
