Experienced Local Entertainment Writers Needed (San Francisco - telecommute)

Post date: 14 December 2010
So, you're a writer, have your finger on the pulse of SF and are looking for an outlet where you can spread your verbal gospel across the lands (or web in this case)? Wow, are we glad we found you!

We’re a web based entertainment magazine for the hip, 25 – 35 demographic in major cities around the world (8 cities and counting!). Our readers turn to us for the best in music, food, nightlife and culture in their cities and we never fail to deliver it to them. This is where you come in. We are looking for experienced, in-the-know writers to cover our San Francisco market and write enticing articles about all that’s hot in the area.

You will be submitting articles for the publication that include things like a weekly summary of events coming up, happenings and news based on trending topics, large concert and event previews, new restaurant openings, hotel deals and general interest in a voice that appeals to a hip, urban 25 – 35 demographic.

We also will ask you to provide short and relevant social media posts for the market’s Twitter/Facebook accounts (sometimes referencing your own content, other times referencing other news).

We would like it if you had the following skills/experience...

3 + years of proven writing experience
Technologically savvy and able to utilize web/publishing tools (basic HTML)
Able to maintain contact via email and meet deadlines consistently
Able to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
Prefer SF-based writers but open to candidates with proven knowledge of the area
Industry insiders welcome

COMPENSATION

This is a part time commitment (roughly 3-5 hours/week). $300-500/mo. based on experience and involvement (determined as we go through the process). This is a telecommuting position.
