Polari First Book Prize (for queer books published in UK)

Post date: 17 November 2010
From Alex Hopkin's blog:

A collective sigh of relief spread through the world of gay writing last night with the announcement of the Polari First Book Prize.

Bestselling author Paul Burston who created Polari said, “The prize is for a first book which explores the queer experience and is open to any work published in the UK in English within the twelve months leading up to the submission date (poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction.)”

With the publishing world in chaos and apparent melt down the prize could not have come at a better time for struggling gay writers.

We will post details when available.
