ONLINE PRODUCER & REPORTER - XTRA.CA (TORONTO)

Pink Triangle Press, Canada's foremost gay and lesbian media group seeks an Online Producer & Reporter for its gay and lesbian news site, Xtra.ca.

As the Online Producer & Reporter you will create engaging content for Xtra.ca. You will work collaboratively with editorial colleagues to ensure that the site is always rich with fresh material and breaking news. You will develop and employ innovative strategies to disseminate and promote Xtra’s work both online and in the corporeal world. You will monitor the quality and quantity of site traffic. You will advise your editorial colleagues on ways to maximize their online storytelling potential. You will liaise with members of our IT team as needed. Your work will contribute to an ongoing increase in the number of visitors to Xtra.ca.

You are an energetic, highly motivated news reporter with comprehensive online skills. You learn your way around new software quickly. You are an aggressive self-starter and multi-tasker, driven to excel. You work well on your own or as part of a collaborative team. You enjoy overcoming technical challenges. You enjoy telling stories in various media, including e-newsletters, blogs, video, web pages and social media.
