Note that this is a general/non-LGBT list and we categorize a journal/magazine as a paying market if payment rates are clearly stated in their submission guidelines. If not, they will not appear on this list. For magazines/journals that pay per word or page, our assumption is that a story contains 1,000 words, or around four pages.
