WayGayU Screenwriting/Stand-up Comedy Writing Workshop (PA)

Students learn the basics of contemporary Hollywood Three-Act script-writing structure through lecture, simulated pitches, group discussion, the screenplay for Thelma & Louise, and accompanying text "Four Screenplays" by Syd Field. Students will also learn the basics of joke-telling in the context of stand-up comedy through lecture, class discussion of comedy clips and podcasts, improv exercises, and in-class critiques. Alejandro Morales co-hosts Camp Tabu, a monthly comedy showcase, and Rant-O-Wheel, a monthly improvised storytelling competition, and he co-produced the first-ever QComedy Fest in 2011.

Registrants are to bring a copy of "Four Screenplays" by Syd Field
