Blogger Wanted for Over-50 LGBT Audience

Post date: 01 July 2011
Looking for a co-blogger to help enrich a site aimed at lgbt over-50s. Blogging is labor intensive and I maintain two while holding down a busy 9-5 job. This blog has paid contributors, as would you be. I'm looking for someone to help maintain content and bring their own voice to it.

You must be in the target audience with a keen interest not just in issues facing older lgbt people but in the fullness of our lives: we travel, we have fun, we have opinions, we're not dead yet.

The right person will be tech and web savvy. Any ideas for design and layout are welcome. We aim to take this to the next level and create a real online presence. You must know what a blog is!! How to write short-form, how to identify stories of interest and keep fresh content on the front page. This is something that can be done in your spare time (I do!), but you must understand what blogging is about and bring your own style to the table. Monthly payment (and no, it's not chicken feed or payment in prestige). This is an opportunity for someone to come onboard and make their presence known, as well as to help create a space for an under-served population. It's not all about hospice care and the horrors of aging -- it's about living to the fullest and the belief that we don't disappear after 49. Successful candidate need not be in New York!! Current regular contributors are from Texas, California and Louisiana, as well as NYC.

Location: Manhattan

Compensation: $200.00 month

Telecommuting is ok.
