Submit Your Proposal for BV ‘11
We are now accepting your submissions for the 2011 BUTCH Voices Conference. Please consider submitting a proposal to present a workshop, perform at BUTCH Nation or screen your film at film night this year.
BUTCH Voices had its first national conference in 2009 with over four hundred attendees, and we held several regional conferences across the country in 2010. In August 2011, BUTCH Voices will again meet in Oakland and put on a national conference.
Our theme for this year is “Sustaining our Movement: Building for the Future.”
We welcome you to submit a workshop, film or performance abstract (and demos of all kinds) speaking to this theme. We will accept all formats: films, performances, skill shares, readings, meditation, and movement. We want anything and everything that addresses the cultural, sexual, emotional, physical, and psychological relationships that arise in the lives of Butches, Studs, Tombois, Aggressives, Machas, etc.

* Submission does not guarantee selection.
* You cannot save a partial submission and come back to complete it. Please be prepared to submit all materials.
* Deadline for submissions to the 2011 National BUTCH Voices Conference in Oakland is June 1, 2011.

We particularly encourage proposals by and for: people-over sixty, under twenty-one, people of color, the working-class, persons with disabilities and any intersectionality across these demographics. We hope to draw participants from across disciplinary, social, and formal boundaries. Relevant proposals from non-butch, stud, or aggressive presenters and allies are also welcome.
