Bare Bones Press & Productions wants to publish your work in a new literary journal for and by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender/transsexual, queer/questioning, intersex, and allied youth. With the premier issue of the Queer Youth Reader, we intend to establish the queer youth version of the Paris Review.
What we’re looking for
If you identify as LGBTQIA, and are between the ages of 14 and 23, here’s what we want from you:

* Poetry
* Essays
* Opinion Pieces
* Book/Film/Music Reviews
* Interviews
* Creative Nonfiction
The mission of Bare Bones Press & Productions is to bring awareness to the diversity and visibility of the queer experience. We love and adore our straight, gender-normative allies (we couldn’t do it without you!) — and will allocate a small portion of this publication to allied voices, but the majority of work published in the Queer Youth Reader will be work created by queer youth.
How to submit your work
To be considered for the premier issue, submit your work with the following submission inquiry form by June 30, 2011. After receiving your inquiry form, we’ll respond to the e-mail address you provided to receive the complete submission.

Bare Bones Press & Productions respects your privacy and will never ever ever sell or make available in any way, your name, email address or any of your other information without your explicit permission.
All work submitted must be your original work and not previously published. Longer works (such as an ongoing piece of fiction) may be serialized (meaning, we’ll break it up into chunks and publish it a bit at a time).
The Queer Youth Reader will be published initially in a digital format with the intention to eventually become a print-based publication.
We retain first time publishing rights to all work published, as well as the right to republish in anthology form. If writers publish the same works somewhere else, Bare Bones Press & Productions will receive an acknowledgement as first publisher. Contributors must be at least 14 years of age at the time of publication.
