P/T DEVELOPMENT WRITER FOR NYC-BASED INTERNATIONAL LGBT ORGANIZATION

International Gay & Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) seeks a Development Writer with experience in grant (proposals, reports, updates, etc.) and direct mail writing. This is a permanent part-time staff position, 20 hours a week at our office in the NYC Financial District. The ideal candidate is a facile writer familiar with both LGBT and human rights issues who can translate our global work into clear, compelling prose targeted at multiple funding audiences, including foundations, corporations, governments and individuals.

IGLHRC engages, trains and supports grassroots activists from all over the world to lead and fight the battle for LGBT human rights; increases the visibility and safety of LGBT people by documenting human rights violations and promoting non-discriminatory laws and policies; amplifies the voices of marginalized LGBT people all over the world by providing them with access to regional and international human rights bodies; and provides emergency assistance to LGBT people and communities under attack.
