2010-2011 Reaching Out MBA Case Writing Competition
Write a Compelling LGBT Business Case and Earn Up to $5,000
Proposals Due by December 7, 2010
Faculty, PhD candidates, students, and alumni from MBA programs throughout the world are invited to research and write an original business case for the 2010-2011 Reaching Out MBA Case Writing Competition. Selected cases will earn their author or team of authors stipends of up to $5,000 and may qualify for inclusion in the Reaching Out MBA Case Library, which is distributed by the European Case Clearing House.
The Case Writing Competition was begun in 2006 to build a library of high quality, well written, and solidly researched MBA-level business school cases that address contemporary lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues. Its sponsor, the annual Reaching Out MBA conference, is the preeminent MBA educational and career conference for LGBT students.
In addition to expanding the Reaching Out MBA Case Library and providing a rich educational experience to participants and, ultimately, to students who will study the cases, the Case Writing Competition supports Reaching Out MBA’s efforts to:
* promote education and learning about LGBT issues in the workplace
* support partnerships with corporations to acquire new case material
* provide a vehicle for the transfer of knowledge to current and future LGBT professionals.
Authors or teams of authors who wish to participate are asked to register and submit by December 7, 2010, a brief case proposal. In December, Reaching Out MBA will announce which of the submitted abstracts will earn their author or team of authors a $1,500 stipend to fund the completion of its case according to the following schedule:
* a first draft of completed case due by February 21, 2011
* a final completed case submitted by March 30, 2011
The author or team of authors of one completed case will be awarded an additional $3,500.
