In terms of what makes a successful submission, very generally, we editors are looking for works that express thoughts and feelings honestly and unpretentiously. In poetry, we look for complex images and ideas; in prose we look for well-constructed stories and essays that are both personal and relatable. We seek work that will make those in our community feel more connected to each other and the world.
Like most editors, we make a lot of decisions about what to include based on artistic intuition.
How to submit
We accept submissions of poetry (no more than three poems at a time), short stories (up to 2,000 words), nonfiction essays (up to 2,000 words) and visual art.

We try to respond to submissions within six weeks of receipt. If you have not heard from us within that time frame, feel free to email us an inquiry.
