Saltwater Press is a new online literary magazine devoted to publishing works by underrepresented authors. I'm writing to encourage you to submit fiction, poetry, or creative non-fiction for the first issue, scheduled for publication in January 2011. While this online journal does not yet have work that you can review, please keep in mind that we are looking for the following:
- Work that shines a light on underrepresented communities, primarily focusing on but not limited to LGBTQ communities;
- Work that exemplifies craft and technique and uses both successfully;
- Work that subverts or revises traditional forms to illustrate the experience of underrepresented communities;
- Work that surprises and moves the reader.
