LGBT Synergy is a not-for-profit, all volunteer community development organisation. We empower people to identify and organise programs and services geared towards the wants and needs of the LGBT community in Ireland.

LGBT Synergy is proud to present Out/Write, a short story competition open to all.

Out/Write is looking to find the hidden creative talents of writers of all ages, from all backgrounds across the country. Have you got a story to tell? If you have, then enter and your story can help LGBT Synergy make a difference.

Stories should be no more than 2500 words long on the theme of “LGBT Lives Aren’t All Fairytales”.

Opening date for entries is Wednesday 29 February, closing date is Friday 18 May.

All entrants will be invited to attend an awards ceremony during Dublin Pride Week.

The entry fee is a donation to LGBT Synergy.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

The competition is open to people of all communities resident in Ireland Entries, in Irish or English, must be the original work of the author and must have been written specifically for this competition and not previously published

Stories must be no longer than 2,500 words in length, typed and double spaced, to be considered.

The author is advised to retain a copy of his/her entry as LGBT Synergy cannot return scripts
Entries will be accepted from Wednesday 29 February 2012 until Friday 18 May 2012. The winners will be announced in June 2012

Each submission can be sent/delivered in an A4 envelope and accompanied by entry fee code and a completed entry form

Unlimited amount of entries, however donation with each

Winning stories may be included in a collection of short stories for charity

The authors name should only appear on the accompanying entry form

The theme of the contest is “LGBT Lives Aren’t All Fairytales”, however the story title may be anything of your choosing

The decision of the judges is final and LGBT Synergy cannot enter into correspondence concerning the judging or merits of any entry

Each submission can be sent/delivered by email and accompanied by paypal entry fee code and a completed entry form
