Call for Poetry: 'Work It' Queer Hip-Hop Night (Toronto)

Call for submission: Calling all QUEER, inspired, creative, hip-hop lovers!

Want to start your PRIDE 2012 in style? Here is your chance to strut your rhymes, lyrics, poetry at this one of a kind QUEER HIP-HOP night we like to call... WORK IT! Rhyme over a beat, or shock the crowd with some serious slam poetry, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Did we mention the cash prize that will be given to the winner chosen by our fabulous judges?

Here’s what you need to know:

1- Submission deadline June 2nd, 2012

2- WORK IT! will be held on June 22nd, at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (hosted by MC Jazz and DJ Nix as part of the Queer Hip Hop Movement)

3- ONE song/ piece per performer

4- Submit one piece for consideration for entry. Email your name, and description of the piece (mp3, youtube, soundcloud, myspace, bandpage, etc. link or recorded sound clip) to mcjazzmusic@gmail.com

5- Final contestants will be emailed by mid June of details regarding sound check and show time.
