Mission
Q-zine, an upcoming quarterly magazine by, for and about sexual minority groups in Africa aims to provide a legitimate outlet for youth, ages 35 and under to celebrate the creativity and cultural richness of queer life in Africa. Q-zine’s main goal is to encourage sexual minority groups to decide how they should be represented in popular culture.
Call for Submission
Are you a creative writer? A queer fashion designer? A make up artist? A hairdresser? A fitness guru? A social commentator? A relationship guru? An artist? An entertainer? A journalist? A political commentator? A health care provider? Are you ready to be published? We are seeking your work.
What we are Looking for
Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, illustrations, fashion shoots, make-up and hair style photos, art, book review, music, tv shows and movies reviews, reviews of queer friendly hot spots, articles on politic, human rights, social issues, health topics and fitness.
How to Submit to Q-zine
* All work must be original, unpublished and accompanied with a cover letter including a short biography of the author with contact information.
* Short stories should be limited to 500 words, please include word count at the top your story.
* Fashion, make up and hairstyle shoots should be in color. They should include the name of the designer, the models, the make up artist, photographer. Please provide a short description of the work, your contact address including facebook page, boutique address and link to a webpage if available
Deadline: April 15, 2011
Entries received after the deadline may be considered for subsequent issues.
Q-zine will feature articles, news, editorials, fashion shoots, art pieces, and creative writing on a wide range of topics directly relevant to the lives and experiences of sexual minority groups and their allies in Africa.

Fashion shoots
