Description:
Queer Open Mic is a regular event offering a mixed bag of open mic performances (usually poetry and short stories, sometimes music or comedy) and kick-ass features. It primarily serves the queer community, it’s been running since 2004, and it takes place in San Francisco. Queer Open Mic is hosted by Sarah Dopp and Baruch Porras-Hernandez, and was founded by Cindy M. Emch in 2004. Sherilyn Connelly was also a co-host from 2005 - 2007, and Mollena Williams co-hosted from 2007 - 2009. QOM is funded primarily by audience donations and in part from a grant from the New Venture Seed Fund awarded by And Castro For All. Anyone with special needs should contact one of the hosts the night of the event for any specific accommodations.
