Please join us for the 2011 Joint National PCA/ACA and Southwest/Texas Regional Conference in San Antonio, Texas! We are excitedly looking forward to stimulating and interesting presentations about the rich diversity of human sexuality and gender performances. In keeping with a yearly theme, this year's conference will be looking towards visual media as a source of intellectual inquiry. Alternative, Queer and LGBT Television Film and Music and Media will be of particular interest for our Area this year! Listed below are some suggestions for possible presentations, but topics not included here are also welcome. Submissions pertaining to any aspect of gender studies, LGBT studies, and/or sexuality studies are desired from scholars, educators, and students at all levels. We also are particularly pleased to encourage graduate student participation at this year's Joint Conference as a unique opportunity to see both National and Regional Conference attendees! Of particular interest are contributions that explore:

o Queer Cinema and Film
o Queer Music Videos
o Transgendered Characters, Plots and Televisual Themes
o LGBTQ "Reality" Television

This year's conference seeks to examine issues of visibility and the lenses through which LGBTQ populations are made available to both queer and straight audiences. Additional areas of interest might also include reception studies of phenomenon listed above. Inquiries regarding this area and/or abstracts of 250 words may be sent via email beginning immediately. Deadline for the submissions is December 15 , 2010. Please include a current CV and a working bibliography with your abstract.
